Jacob de Jong was born. 6 October 1808 according to Glenn’s genealogy or 11 Oct 1808 according to photocopied page from a booklet Glenn has about the DeJong family, or 17 July 1810 according to “The VanVuuren Clan” booklet. He was born in Schoorl. Jacob died 27 March 1875 in Roseland.

Geertje and Jacob were married 2 Nov 1834. Geertje was 24 years old and Jacob was 26. The marriage took place in Schoorl, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, where both lived. Jacob was a farmer, as was Geertje’s father.
