(an old Dutch recipe)
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 egg (separated)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
chopped nuts
- Let butter stand until soft, then cream with sugar.
- Add egg yolks and mix.
- Sift flour with cinnamon and add a little at a time.
- Work it out with your fingers if you like.
- Pat down thin on cookie sheet and brush with egg white to which has been added a little water.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts
- Bake 1/2 hr inn 300 oven.
