PHOENIX, Ariz. — Mrs. Albert (Effie J.) Henry, 84, former Whiting and Hammond resident, died here Saturday.
She was a Phoenix resident for the past 29 years and member of the Royal Neighbors and the First Southern Baptist Church. She spent many summers in Porter County. Her husband died in 1954.
She was born in Beardstown, Ill. Oct. 16, 1894, a daughter of Lewis and Emma (Cowan) Rhining, and was married Sept. 19, 1909 in Beardstown.
Surviving are three daughters, Alberta Coan of Valparaiso, Hazel Hine of Chesterton and Mildred Bearden of Phoenix; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Burns-Kish Funeral Home in Munster with the Rev. David Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
