“We were in Panama when the 50th anniversary occurred and Dad (Orville) arranged for his parents to make a visit to us. They had never flown on an airplane nor been out of the US. So this was quite an event. We had a great time showing them the Panama Canal, etc.”
“One story about the trip happened in Miami. They had flown from Chicago to Miami and had to change planes. Dad had arranged for a VIP reception and so they were paged over the airport system. Grandma said, ‘No one knows us here so we won’t answer the page.’ Thus, the VIP treatment didn’t happen. At some point I may discover those Panama photos and send them to you.”
