Hannah M. Evans Henry

Shortly after Albert Henry’s mother Mary Elizabeth Morton died in childbirth in 1885, Albert’s father Hiram Levi Henry remarried Hannah M. Evans. The marriage took place on 17 October 1885 in Adams County, Illinois. The couple had half a dozen or so children.

The 1900 US Census recorded the family living in Mound Township, McDonough County, Illinois.

Hannah M. Evans was born 30 January 1869 in Brown County, IL to Daniel Evans and Mary Ann Adams. Daniel was a farmer, born in Pennsylvania in 1844; his mother was born in Germany and father in Pennsylvania. Mary was born in Versailles, Brown County, Illinois in 1843; her father was born in Vermont and mother in Victor, NY.

  • Amos F. Evans b. 3 January 1871, m. Laura Ann Ackerman

Hannah died 29 Nov 1928 in Canton and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton with Hiram, who died in 1910. Their daughters Bessie (1895-1991), Gladys (1899-1932), and Helen (1901-1966), and son Jesse Martin Henry (1897-1941) are also buried there.
